How to Play Poopdle
A daily word-ladder puzzle with a silly goal and serious word skills.
Objective
Transform the starting word into POOP by changing one letter at a time. Each intermediate word must be a valid four-letter English word in our dictionary.
Rules
- Every word has exactly four letters.
- Each step changes exactly one letter (position can vary).
- You cannot add, remove, or rearrange letters.
- Every word in your chain must be valid.
- You may not reuse a word already in your path.
Scoring — Par and Extra Steps
Each daily puzzle has a par: the minimum number of steps required to reach POOP. If you take 8 steps and par is 6, your score is +2 extra steps. Matching par is a perfect solve.
Example
BARN → BORN → BOON → BOON → … → POOP
(Your actual path depends on today's starting word.)
Daily vs Unlimited
Daily gives everyone the same starting word each day. Resets at midnight Eastern Time. Unlimited picks a random valid starting word for practice — great for learning word-ladder strategy.
Difficulty
Monday tends to be easier (shorter par). Friday and Saturday are harder. Each puzzle is labeled Easy, Medium, or Hard based on par length.
